Detailed Itinerary

In the early morning, we will collect you from your hotel in Arusha and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park. The park encompasses the northwest bank and part of the alkaline Lake Manyara, which itself lies in the Great Rift Valley.

Lake Manyara National Park is perhaps best known for its flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants, but it is also home to several hundred other bird species, making it a paradise for ornithologists. In addition to the impressive variety of birds, the park is inhabited by “Big Game.” With a bit of luck, you may spot elephants in the wooded regions, and with even more fortune, the famous tree-climbing lions. It has long been believed that Lake Manyara National Park is the only place where lions exhibit this unusual behavior.

Baboons and vervet monkeys are often seen among the forested areas, while in the more open spaces, giraffes nibble on fresh leaves, and various types of antelope forage for tasty shoots. After a delightful picnic lunch, you will have more time for wildlife watching before we return to your hotel.
