This 7-day adventure follows the route of the iconic Great Migration from Tarangire’s ancient baobabs to the open plains of Serengeti and the dramatic Mara River crossings in the north. You’ll spend two full days in Northern Serengeti, timed for the peak migration season when wildebeest and zebras brave crocodile-infested waters. Day-by-Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, where elephant herds roam freely among majestic baobab trees. This park is a haven for wildlife, particularly in the dry season when animals congregate around the Tarangire River. Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch, then proceed to your lodge or tented camp for the evening.

Day 2: Tarangire to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro
After breakfast, head toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enter the Serengeti through Naabi Hill Gate and begin game viewing as you move into the Central Seronera region, known for its year-round predator activity. Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner.

Day 3: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti (Game Drive En Route)
Leave early and begin your journey northward through Serengeti National Park. This is a full-day game drive through changing landscapes—from open plains to wooded valleys—as you follow the migration route. By afternoon, you’ll reach the remote and less-traveled Northern Serengeti, close to the Mara River.

Watch for dramatic crossings as thousands of wildebeest and zebras plunge into crocodile-filled waters, while lions and leopards stalk the herds. Your guide will position you at key points for the best viewing opportunities, depending on migration activity.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Start with a final morning game drive in Serengeti before heading toward the Ngorongoro highlands. The scenic drive brings you to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll arrive at your lodge with sweeping views over the collapsed volcanic caldera, ready for tomorrow’s descent.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha
