Day-by-Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your journey begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems. Known for its rugged beauty, iconic baobab trees, and large herds of elephants, Tarangire offers a peaceful introduction to safari life. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch inside the park. Keep an eye out for lions lounging in the shade, giraffes browsing, and an abundance of birdlife along the Tarangire River.

Day 2: Tarangire to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional photo stops or a brief visit to a Maasai village. Once inside Serengeti, game viewing begins immediately. You’ll arrive in the central Seronera region by afternoon and enjoy a game drive en route to your accommodation. The landscape here is dotted with kopjes and known for year-round predator activity.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Today you’ll spend the full day exploring the heart of the Serengeti. Early morning and late afternoon drives offer the best chances to spot predators like lions and cheetahs in action. The Seronera Valley is rich in biodiversity and supports a healthy mix of big cats, elephants, hyenas, and herbivores. Depending on the season, you may also witness large herds involved in the Great Migration. Enjoy a bush lunch or picnic as you take in the vast landscape.

Day 4: Serengeti – Optional Visit to North or Continue Game Drives in Central

On this day, you can either enjoy another full day of game drives in Central Serengeti or take an optional transfer to Northern Serengeti (July–October) for prime viewing of river crossings during the Great Migration. The northern region near the Mara River offers fewer crowds and a chance to witness dramatic predator-prey encounters. Return to camp in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner under the stars.

Along the way, take in changing landscapes from grassy plains to dense forested slopes. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim or nearby area in time to relax and enjoy panoramic views.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha

Rise early to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This collapsed volcano hosts an extraordinary ecosystem where you may see the endangered black rhino, large herds of buffalo, lions, hyenas, hippos, and thousands of flamingos. After a picnic lunch at a scenic spot, begin your return drive to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
