3-Day Serengeti & Ngorongoro Safari

Day-by-Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Depart early from Arusha and begin your journey westward through the highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The scenic drive is an experience in itself, with changing landscapes and occasional sightings of Maasai communities along the way. After crossing into the Serengeti, enjoy an en route game drive that gives you your first glimpse of the park’s incredible wildlife. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time to relax before dinner.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti

After breakfast, set out for a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. You’ll explore various habitats ranging from open plains to kopjes and riverine forests. The Serengeti is famous for its predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as large herds of herbivores like wildebeest and zebra. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the spectacular Great Migration as thousands of animals move in search of fresh grazing. Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Rise early and drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, descend into the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is teeming with wildlife, including rhinos, lions, hyenas, elephants, and hippos, all set against the backdrop of a dramatic landscape. After lunch at a picnic site, begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.

• Distance: 4–5 hours to Ngorongoro, then 4–5 hours to Arusha
